Welcome to Japan C

Why are we so fascinated with all things Japanese? Everything is compact and efficient... witness the multi-tiered bento box, the electric rice cooker which also makes sushi rice and risotto, and the world’s smallest grand piano. Japan also has a (short) leg up on everything cool, cute, clever, and creative... from Hello Kitty toasters, to intricately beautiful kimono, to so-called “shower toilets”, equipped with a built-in bidet, air-dryer, and remote control, in case you’re too lazy to flush the toilet the regular way.
Apart from Ichiro and Matsui, most Japanese imports are relatively unknown to Americans. But now, you can get a taste of the sometimes ingenious, often quirky, always intriguing products at JapanC, an exhibition located at the Felissimo Design House in Manhattan. It’s like taking a trip to Tokyo…without the hassle of getting (politely) shoved into a subway train. Beginning August 16 until November 1, this 11-week event will showcase goods ranging from contemporary furniture to kimono-inspired fashion accessories, obsession-worthy gadgets to freeze-dried miso soup. See it for yourself, and experience the Japandemonium.

I stumbled onto your site, while looking for my niece's photos. How lucky for me! I've read our entire site! and enjoyed ever word & photo. I am with The Greater New York Chamber Of Commerce @ chamber.com. The chamber, local, national & international, works with countries, foreign chambers, consulates & embassies, trade--delegations, etc. We'd love to have Felissimo as a member. I will contact you this week. Heidi Edelman
